Job description

Career Services at UAF supports student success through empowering Nanooks to connect their education and experience in pursuit of meaningful careers. Through individual appointments, workshops, career fairs, and access to tools like Handshake and career assessments, Career Services empowers students to clarify goals and confidently pursue their professional aspirations.
Student Assistants are essential to our operations. Duties would include creating content for social media using a brand kit in Canva, assisting with in-person events, promoting student employment on campus, managing the department email inbox, Career Closet sorting & managing, and assisting with professional headshot photos.
To thrive in this role, the applicant should enjoy helping others, talking to their peers, and be comfortable working in a supportive, student-focused environment. Strong communication and social media skills are essential. The applicant needs to balance multiple tasks with professionalism and attention to detail, have a willingness to learn, work collaboratively with a team, and maintain a welcoming, inclusive attitude.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must be currently enrolled as a UAF student taking a minimum of 6 credits per semester with a minimum GPA of 2.0 or a newly enrolled student.
Proficient in Google applications, with the ability to learn new software and tools quickly, including Canva.
Position Details:
This is a student employee position, with a starting pay rate of $16.20 hourly. Hours are limited to 20 per week maximum during instructional periods of the academic year. During summer term, different hours may be available depending on needs and budget of the department.
This recruitment is open to undergraduate students only.
