Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Data Center Technicians II & III (Req ID# 3777) in Sparks, NV. The Data Center Technician II & III supports the installation and maintenance of structured cabling systems within a mission-critical data center environment. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical foundation in structured cabling methodologies, interprets complex floorplans and drawings, and maintains a commitment to safety and professional customer interface.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $25 to $35 Per Hour BOE

Licenses/Certifications Required:

  • OSHA 10

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the project team with installation activities of structured cabling systems according to design specifications.
  • Read and interpret floorplans, drawings, specifications, and cut sheets to ensure accurate deployment.
  • Proactively maintain jobsite organization and housekeeping, ensuring materials and tools are secured and hazardous conditions are addressed.
  • Manage time, manpower, and materials effectively to deliver assignments within schedule and budget.
  • Interface with customers on a professional level, representing the company with excellence on-site.
  • Perform job closeout activities and prepare accurate as-built drawings for project completion.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time, including timesheets, Pre-Task Plans (PTP), and Tool Box Talks (TBT).
  • Maintain strict compliance with customer security requirements and all company, customer, and industry safety standards.
  • Exhibit and maintain professional appearance and behavior at all times during client-facing assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the materials and methodologies involved with the installation of structured cabling systems.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret floorplans, technical drawings, specifications, and cut sheets.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and materials on the jobsite.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to ask relevant questions and interact professionally with clients.
  • Previous experience in a data center or similar mission-critical environment is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and walk large jobsites regularly throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to use tools and handle small components.
  • Must be able to see and distinguish different colors for cable identification.
  • Ability to work in environments with moderate noise levels and varying temperatures.

Pay Transparency:

The anticipated pay range for this position is $25 to $35 per hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
