Job Title: Structured Cabling Project Manager

Overview: A prestigious global financial institution is seeking a seasoned Structured Cabling Project Manager to lead the design, implementation, and coordination of structured cabling projects across multiple business-critical environments. This long-term role, based in New York City, offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and drive infrastructure excellence in alignment with international standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Technical Oversight:

  • Lead the design and implementation of structured cabling systems in accordance with GTI and industry standards (ANSI/TIA/EIA, BICSI).
  • Review and comment on schematic designs, design development packages, and construction documents using tools like PDF markups and log trackers.
  • Ensure adherence to structured cabling standards and provide technical support to design consultants and partners.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders across Architectural, MEP, AV, Security, Smart Building (IoT), WiFi, DAS, Auxiliary Radio Communications, and Vertical Transport disciplines.

Construction Administration:

  • Conduct site walks and generate field observation and punch list reports.
  • Validate that telecom infrastructure installations comply with BICSI/TIA/local codes and internal standards.
  • Attend construction and coordination meetings, providing subject-matter expertise on structured cabling systems.
  • Review and respond to RFIs, shop drawings, and submittals.
  • Supervise project close-out procedures, including:
    • Room readiness checklists (Site Shell, Room Ready, Production Ready).
    • Pull/Patch Schedule Matrix completion.
    • Review and approval of fiber/copper test results.
    • Verification of As-Built drawings (Revit/CAD/PDF).
    • Compilation of warranty and certification documentation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in structured cabling project management or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards (BICSI, ANSI/TIA/EIA).
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary project teams.
  • Proficiency in key software tools including:
    • AutoCAD
    • Revit (BIM)
    • Bluebeam
    • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
