LAPRAIRIE WORKS INCisa growing, civil construction and highway maintenance contractor with 40 years of operating experience across Western Canada and with long-term highway maintenance contracts in Albertas Northwest.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Bridgeworker- Civil Infrastructure and Construction

THE LOCATION

Based out of LAPRAIRIES Grande Prairie / Clairmont Alberta facility Serving throughout beautiful and expansive Alberta and Western Canada.

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE SKILLS

  • Perform a wide range of routine and complex repairs related to timber, concrete and steel bridge structures including concrete formwork and finishing, bearings, cap and other replacements of bridge components, backwall and abutment excavation and backfilling, and other work
  • Perform bridge construction and/or rehabilitation tasks involving multi span timber, concrete, cable and steel bridges including standard and major bridges
  • Operate heavy equipment including but not limited to skid steer, loader, dozer, excavator, and pile driver
  • Multiyear field experience related to civil bridge construction / maintenance
  • Site supervision and management experience is considered an asset
  • A strong focus on Health, Safety & Environmental practices
  • Ability to understand technical specifications and related project drawings
  • Solid communications skills (oral / written)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a thorough knowledge of worksite safety, and safe operating procedures relevant to bridge and or civil construction
  • Certified Red Seal trades in Carpentry, Ironworker or alike would be considered an asset
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 driver's licence. Class 3 or a Class 1 Drivers licence is preferred
