Role Description The Cable Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Austin, TX. This role is responsible for installing, routing, terminating, and testing cables and structured cabling systems in commercial and technical environments, following project plans and safety standards. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting drawings, pulling and labeling cables, using hand tools to install pathways and hardware, and assisting with troubleshooting and repairs of cabling issues. The Cable Technician collaborates with electricians, low-voltage specialists, and project supervisors to ensure work is completed on schedule and meets quality standards. The role also involves maintaining a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols, and documenting work performed for project records.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience working with cables and cabling in commercial or industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling systems, including installation, termination, and testing of data and low-voltage cabling.
  • Basic understanding of electricity and electrical safety practices relevant to cabling work.
  • Proficiency using hand tools for cable installation, routing, fastening, and hardware mounting.
