Cable Technician Lead

The Cabling Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of cabling installation projects across various sites within the United States. This role ensures that all cabling infrastructure is installed efficiently and safely, in compliance with industry standards and project specifications. The Cabling Lead coordinates with project managers, engineers, and technicians to plan and execute cabling layouts, troubleshoot issues, and maintain high-quality workmanship. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in cabling or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cabling installation with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Strong knowledge of structured cabling systems, including fiber optics and copper cabling standards.
• Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) and industry safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification such as BICSI Installer or Technician.
• Experience with project management software and tools.
• Knowledge of network infrastructure and telecommunications systems.
• Previous experience working on large-scale commercial or industrial cabling projects.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise cabling installation teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.
• Develop detailed cabling plans and schedules in collaboration with project managers and engineers.
• Conduct site assessments to determine cabling requirements and identify potential challenges.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
• Train and mentor cabling technicians to enhance their skills and maintain quality standards.
• Coordinate procurement and inventory management of cabling materials and tools.
• Perform quality inspections and testing of installed cabling to verify performance and reliability.
• Document project progress, issues, and resolutions, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to cabling installations promptly.
• Collaborate with other trades and departments to ensure seamless integration of cabling systems.
