Job description

TekCom Resources is seeking a Structured Cabling Installer I (Level 2) to support commercial structured cabling and low-voltage infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for someone with foundational field experience who can work independently on basic installation tasks while continuing to grow technically within the structured cabling industry.
The Installer II will be responsible for installing horizontal cabling systems, pathway infrastructure, terminations, labeling, and assisting with testing/documentation while following TIA standards and BICSI best practices.
This position does provide relocation assistance. Responsibilities
  • Install Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A cabling
  • Terminate jacks, faceplates, and patch panels
  • Install J-hooks, cable tray, supports, and pathway infrastructure
  • Read and interpret basic drawings, pull sheets, and cable schedules
  • Maintain accurate labeling and documentation logs
  • Assist with cable testing and test setup
  • Follow TIA standards and BICSI best practices
  • Work independently on assigned installation tasks
  • Support and mentor Level 1 helpers when assigned
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
