Job Overview

Outsource is actively hiring Commercial Cable Technicians for long-term commercial construction projects throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Our technicians work on data centers, hospitals, schools, office buildings, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and other large commercial projects installing and supporting structured cabling, audiovisual systems, access control, security systems, and network infrastructure. Scope of Work

  • Install, terminate, label, and test Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling
  • Pull, route, and dress low-voltage cables through conduit, cable tray, J-hooks, and pathways
  • Install patch panels, racks, cabinets, ladder rack, and cable management systems
  • Install and terminate AV systems including speakers, displays, projectors, microphones, and control equipment
  • Install access control systems including card readers, mag locks, electric strikes, REX devices, and door hardware
  • Install CCTV cameras and associated security cabling
  • Perform cable testing, troubleshooting, and documentation
  • Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and low-voltage drawings
  • Maintain clean cable management while following industry standards
  • Work safely while following OSHA requirements and jobsite safety procedures
  • Collaborate with project managers, foremen, and other trades to complete projects on schedule


Requirements

  • Experience with commercial structured cabling installations
  • Experience installing Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and/or fiber optic cable
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • Structured Cabling
    • Data Networks
    • Access Control
    • CCTV
    • Audio Visual (AV)
  • Ability to read blueprints is a plus
  • Experience terminating and testing copper or fiber is preferred
  • Own basic hand tools
  • Reliable transportation
  • Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
