A Structured Cabling Project Manager oversees the planning, installation, and maintenance of an organization's cabling infrastructure, including data, voice, and video cabling systems. They coordinate project timelines, manage budgets, and supervise installation teams to ensure projects are completed according to industry standards and client requirements. Their role is crucial in ensuring reliable and efficient communication networks within buildings or across multiple locations.

TRAVELLING Technology Systems Technician

AV • Low Voltage • Fiber • Electrical | Nationwide Projects

Get Paid to Travel around 6 months out of the year. Get Paid to Learn. Build Skills That Make You More Valuable.

NBCP Communications Systems is hiring hands-on technicians for our nationwide installation team.
This isn't a position where you'll spend every day pulling the same cable or performing one narrow trade. Our technicians work on complete, sophisticated AV and communications systems—and develop skills across AV, low-voltage, fiber, electrical and construction along the way.
You'll travel the country, work on challenging projects, receive extensive hands-on training and have a clear opportunity to grow into higher-level technical and leadership positions.
If you're mechanically or technically strong, work hard and learn quickly, we want to talk to you.

What You'll Work On

NBCP teams install complete technology environments throughout the United States. Depending on the project and your experience, you'll:
  • Install professional AV and communications systems
  • Install displays, video walls, cameras, speakers, microphones and equipment racks
  • Pull, terminate and test low-voltage and structured cabling
  • Install and terminate fiber
  • Troubleshoot and commission systems
  • Perform electrical and infrastructure work within your qualifications
  • Read drawings, signal flows and installation plans
  • Support associated ceiling, drywall, carpentry and construction work
  • Diagnose and solve field problems
  • Work alongside engineers, project managers and experienced field personnel
We don't want to keep you in one lane.

The more you learn, the more responsibility you can take on—and the more valuable you become.
Who We're Looking For

We're interested in people who already know how to work with their hands and want to take their technical career further.
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in one or more of the following:
AV • Low Voltage • Electrical • Structured Cabling • Fiber • IT • Construction • Mechanical Trades

You should be:
  • Mechanically and technically capable
  • Comfortable using professional tools and working on active jobsites
  • Willing to travel extensively throughout the United States
  • Able to work independently and solve problems
  • Reliable and accountable for your work
  • Professional around customers
  • Physically capable of lifting equipment, climbing ladders and working at heights
  • Motivated to continually learn new skills
Experience That Stands Out

Professional AV experience is excellent—but you don't have to come from AV.
We're also interested in experienced electricians, low-voltage technicians, structured-cabling technicians, fiber technicians, service technicians, military technical personnel and skilled tradespeople who want to move into advanced technology systems.
AVIXA CTS certifications, manufacturer certifications, electrical licensing, fiber certifications and experience with Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC or similar systems are highly valued.
The Travel

This is a real traveling position.

You'll work on projects throughout the United States and may remain on assignment for extended periods.
For the right person, that's a major advantage.
Instead of spending years seeing the same systems and jobsites, you'll gain experience across different projects, technologies, facilities and environments nationwide.
Travel per diem is provided.

What You Get

  • Highly competitive compensation
  • Performance-based earning opportunities
  • Travel per diem
  • Health plan
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off
  • Annual bonus / profit sharing
  • Extensive company-paid training
  • Hands-on experience across multiple technical disciplines
  • Advancement opportunities as your capabilities grow
Where This Can Take You

We are not hiring someone simply to remain an entry-level technician.
Someone who demonstrates technical ability, leadership and initiative can progress into positions such as:
Senior Technician → Lead Technician → Field Engineer → Commissioning / Service → Project Leadership

Your advancement depends heavily on what you learn, what you can do and the responsibility you're ready to take on.
