Job description

The Lead Structured Cabling Installer will oversee and manage the installation, maintenance, and repair of structured cabling systems within commercial and industrial environments. This position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with industry standards. The supervisor will work closely with project managers, technicians, and clients to ensure the seamless execution of structured cabling projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Lead and supervise a team of cabling technicians, providing training, guidance, and support to ensure high-quality work.
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for on-site issues, resolving problems quickly and effectively.
  • Coordinate and manage the installation of structured cabling systems, including fiber optic and copper cabling, ensuring timely and accurate project delivery.
  • Review project plans and blueprints, providing technical guidance and expertise to ensure proper execution.
  • Track project milestones and deadlines, reporting progress to the project manager and client as needed.
  • Ensure that all work complies with local, state, and national regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure the quality and accuracy of installations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and client specifications.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks or issues that may affect project outcomes.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, providing updates on project status and addressing any concerns.
  • Conduct site walk-throughs with clients to review completed work and ensure satisfaction.
  • Ensure that all team members follow safety procedures and protocols and maintain a safe work environment.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associateโ€™s degree or specialized training in a related field plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fiber optic specialization, experience in a supervisory role not required, but a plus.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Fiber Optic Association (FOA) certification) are preferred.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Extensive knowledge of fiber optic technology, including installation, splicing, and testing procedures.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and direct a team effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and team members.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license required.
