Job Type: Full-Time | Travel Required

Salary: $115,000-150,000

A growing and well-established construction firm is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Project Manager to lead fabrication and erection projects across the U.S. This is a high-impact role with full project ownership—from planning through closeout—working alongside a strong operations and field team.

If you’re someone who understands both the shop and the field, and you take pride in delivering steel projects safely, on schedule, and on budget, this is worth a conversation

What You’ll Be Doing

Project Leadership

  • Take full responsibility for structural steel projects from kickoff through completion
  • Coordinate closely with operations, field leadership, and fabrication teams

Planning & Execution

  • Develop and maintain project schedules
  • Support operational planning and ensure alignment with field execution
  • Oversee erection sequencing and coordination

Budget & Cost Control

  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and billing
  • Track and negotiate change orders and extra work
  • Monitor cost performance and projections

Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Manage all project correspondence and documentation

Quality & Safety

  • Ensure all work meets plans, specifications, and company standards
  • Partner with safety leadership to uphold jobsite safety expectations

Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop project staff
  • Delegate effectively and promote accountability across the team

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of project management experience in structural steel (fabrication and erection required)
  • Strong understanding of steel construction methods, sequencing, and coordination
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and field operations simultaneously
  • Effective communicator who can lead teams and build relationships with clients and partners
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

What’s Offered

  • Competitive compensation with bonus and profit-sharing opportunities
  • Medical and dental coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off, holidays, and sick time
  • Mileage reimbursement and cell phone support
  • Opportunity to work on projects nationwide with a strong, collaborative team

Why This Role Stands Out
You’ll have real ownership, not just oversight. This is a chance to lead meaningful steel projects with a company that values safety, quality, and people—and gives you the autonomy to run your work the right way.
