Job description

Structural Steel Project Manager

Are you an experienced professional passionate about managing diverse and challenging structural steel projects? Join a team at an AISC Certified Steel Fabricator where you'll oversee projects ranging from 10 tons to over 1,000 tons. If you thrive on solving complex challenges and ensuring project success, this on-site role is your opportunity to excel.


Location: On-site

Responsibilities:

  • Review contract documents, design drawings, specifications, and proposals.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of shop drawings and erection plans with project documents and shop standards.
  • Interpret drawings for joists, decks, gratings, stairs, and rails with proficiency.
  • Participate in meetings on job sites or via conference calls to address project progress.
  • Develop schedules and phasing plans to meet customer requirements.
  • Ensure timely submission and delivery of all project-related documentation.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues during detailing, fabrication, and erection stages.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of structural project management experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of AISC and NISD standards.
  • Strong understanding of connections and engineering calculations.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Capacity to handle multiple projects at various stages simultaneously.
  • Experience with Tekla PowerFab software is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, and Excel is preferred.
