Senior Structural Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leading the structural engineering team in the development of project deliverables.

  • Prepare technical drawings, calculations, equipment specifications, datasheets, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations.

  • Maintain corporate structural engineering work procedures and specifications.

  • Review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other contract administration tasks.

  • Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.

  • Participate in value engineering and basic cost estimating.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited University.

  • Registered with APEGA, or registered with the provincial body as an engineer in another province in Canada, and eligible for registration with APEGA as a P.Eng.

  • 10+ years of structural engineering experience. Experience as a discipline lead or project lead is an asset.

  • Working knowledge of Canadian building codes and standards, relevant industry standards and regulations.

  • Experience with structural analysis software S-Frame, RISA 3D, RISA Connection is an asset.

  • Experience with engineering design of structural steel, steel connections, modularization, piles, concrete foundations, engineering calculations.

  • Experience working with steel fabrication vendors and site construction work and responding to RFI’s in a timely fashion.

  • Well organized, with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects. Strong organizational interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.All applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada, be a resident, and residing in Calgary or be willing to relocate to Calgary, to be considered for the position.
