Specializing in structural, agricultural and custom orders, we take pride in the ability to be adaptable and flexible when designing and building orders to meet the customers exact requirements. We are growing, and quickly! Our new expansion is nearing completion targeted for Fall 2026.

Position Summary

Are you looking for an exciting new career opportunity that comes with amazing opportunities for success and growth for your future? Morskate Manufacturing is actively recruiting a motivated Structural Steel Project Manager to join our dynamic team of professionals. 

Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for overseeing structural steel projects from estimation and sales through to final delivery. This includes managing schedules, controlling job costs, coordinating with drafting and shop teams, and ensuring smooth communication between departments. Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage structural steel projects from pre-construction through completion, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, procurement, fabrication, delivery, and erection.
  • Collaborate with estimators, drafters, engineers, fabricators, field supervisors, clients, and vendors to ensure project objectives, specifications, and contract requirements are met.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, risks, and overall performance, implementing corrective actions as needed and providing regular financial and progress reporting.
  • Review and approve purchase orders, change orders, and subcontractor payments while maintaining accurate project documentation.
  • Lead and support project coordinators and field supervisors, fostering a collaborative, safe, and results-driven team environment.

Work Environment

  • Office and field-based work; must be willing to travel to job sites as required.
  • Occasional extended hours or weekend work may be necessary depending on project timelines.

Requirements/Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on structural steel considered an asset.
  • New graduates who are eager to launch their careers - training will be provided to the right candidate
  • Prior experience working with CWB standards, fabrication processes, and erection practices

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of structural drawings, fabrication details, and steel erection sequences.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam, or equivalent).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, engineering drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.

Certifications (preferred but not required):

  • PMP (Project Management Professional)
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction Certification
  • CWB Certification familiarity
