Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Detailing Manager to serve as a technical lead and project partner within our structural steel operations. This is a non-supervisory, hands-on role focused on delivering high-quality steel detailing while working closely with the Project Management team, engineering partners, and fabrication stakeholders.
This position is ideal for a senior detailer or detailing manager who excels at coordination, standards, and execution-but prefers collaboration over people management.
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary detailing point of contact for assigned projects
  • Review structural steel shop drawings, erection drawings, and bills of material
  • Work in close alignment with project managers to support schedules, scope, and project milestones
  • Coordinate with detailers, fabricators, and field teams to resolve detailing and constructability issues
  • Ensure drawings comply with AISC & AWS standards
  • Manage detailing workflows and priorities across multiple projects
  • Lead detailing coordination meetings as needed
  • Maintain and apply company detailing standards and best practices

Qualifications
  • Required:
    • Advanced proficiency with:
      • Tekla Structures
      • AutoCAD
    • Strong working knowledge of:
      • AISC Steel Construction Manual
      • AWS D1.1
      • Structural steel fabrication and erection processes
  • Proven experience supporting projects in partnership with project managers
  • Preferred:
    • 3 years on the job experience
    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field
    • Experience with Arizona commercial & industrial projects
    • Experience coordinating BIM models and interdisciplinary workflows
    • AISC Detailing Certification (a plus)

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Schedule
Business hours are M-Th 7am - 5pm and Fri 7am - 11am
Hours will be dependent upon current projects and business needs.
