Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern/co-op to be based in our Kitchener, ON office. This is a newly created position.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Structural modelling with Midas Civil.
- On-Site Structure inspections
- Design for municipal infrastructure using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation
- Shop Drawing Review
- Inspect all phases of construction to ensure that the work is carried out in accordance to specifications regarding material requirements, alignment, grade, finish, compaction, etc.
- Document the site conditions, equipment, material installations, quantities and the work being performed by the Contractor
- Confirm that all onsite testing during installation are in conformance with the Contract Specifications
- Ensures deficiencies are corrected prior to acceptance of the work
- Ensuring overall data quality and integrity
- Prepare documentation for design projects and reports
- Undertake quality control procedures
- Assures that engineering related issues are promptly relayed to the Project Manager for action and follows up to assure timeliness of resolution efforts
Minimum requirements:
- Candidates must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with the intent to continue attendance following the internship.
- Completed 2 years of study
Preferred Qualifications :
- Interest in Roads and Bridges
- Previous Bridge Engineering Co-op
- Structural Modeling Experience
- Field Experience
