Zipline is the world's largest and most experienced drone delivery service. We are on a mission to serve all humans equally by ensuring access to food, medicine and essential goods anytime, anywhere. We design, build, and operate the world's largest autonomous logistics system, delivering critical supplies quickly and reliably. Today, Zipline operates on four continents, makes a delivery somewhere in the world every 30 seconds, and has completed millions of deliveries to date, including blood, vaccines, medical supplies, food, and retail products.

Our customers include the world's largest and most prominent healthcare systems, governments, retailers, restaurants and global businesses who rely on us to save lives, reduce emissions, increase economic opportunity, and provide delivery from point A to point B as fast as possible. The drone is only 15% of what we've built to enable seamless, reliable, global operations.

Our system strengthens supply chains, reduces congestion, and gives people time back. With more than 140 million commercial autonomous miles safely flown, Zipline is redefining access to healthcare, consumer products, and food across the globe.

We operate at a global scale and are looking for practical problem solvers who thrive on real-world challenges and rapid growth. Our team is motivated by building systems that have a direct, meaningful impact on people's lives and by scaling the future of logistics. We are seeking people who sculpt from first principles, enjoy facing adversity, and can do the impossible at record breaking speeds.

About the Ground Systems Construction Team

The Ground Systems Deployment and Construction team is responsible for turning bare ground into functional drone charging sites! We're a broad, cross-functional team with skills across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and construction engineering with a mandate to deliver world-class construction execution with zero issues in the first 30 days, on-time and on-budget, using scalable, cost-optimized, and serviceable designs.

The Role

As a Construction Management Intern in Dallas-Fort Worth, you will be responsible for supporting the rolling out of our systems across multiple metros and paving the way imagining how the UAS world meets the built environment - not just for Zipline but for our customers and the industry as a whole. You will be involved in managing the entire process from site identification through permitting, approvals, and construction.

You will be working with numerous cross-functional teams such as Communications, Government Affairs, Engineering, and Operations teams to tackle all the operational and technical challenges we face head-on to get our customer's sites operational as quickly as possible. You will have to be technically savvy, and be able to develop relationships with customers, suppliers, and contractors.

As a Construction Management Intern in Dallas-Fort Worth, you will be involved in driving all aspects of project construction to establish Zipline's ground infrastructure in the region. This includes supporting the entire process from contractor evaluation, contracting and bid evaluation, design review in partnership with our engineering teams, through to full scope site construction management and project competition and oversight in partnership with our Service Operations and Superintendent teams. You'll work alongside the Construction Management team and with the broader Deployment team, Real Estate and Government Affairs teams, Finance, Legal, and Engineering to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and secure the necessary approvals to expand our network.

You support management of external vendors, and ensure project timelines are met, all while maintaining alignment with Zipline's strategic goals.

What You'll Do
  • Support construction projects, site infrastructure installments, construction contractors, and additional real estate development projects ensuring schedule and cost targets are met or beaten.
  • Help develop improvements to construction methods and processes.
  • Source and foster relationships with external stakeholders, including local jurisdictions, utilities, landlords, and contractors.
  • Assist with identifying and mitigating risks associated with pre-construction and construction phases.
  • Track and communicate project timelines with internal Zipline teams.
  • Source and manage general contractors and subcontractors across various trades (construction, assembly, electrical) during bid, pre-construction, construction, and site commissioning project phases.
  • Support construction project quality and site-readiness walks.
What You'll Bring
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Real Estate Development, or related field. You must have completed the second year of your undergraduate studies. Masters and PhD students are also eligible.
  • Familiarity with construction software such as Bluebeam, Procore, and similar tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a willingness to ask questions and learn.
  • Must be able to travel frequently throughout Dallas-Fort Worth. Requires transportation (not company provided) and the ability to independently travel to operational sites, events, communities, and partner locations as needed.
  • Comfort with hands-on work and openness to occasional travel when necessary.
  • An open mind to help us bring Zipline's service to new and existing customers!
