Dewberry is currently seeking a Structural (Building) Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to support our Building and Facility Structures Group in design and analysis of all types of non-bridge structures in our New York City, NY office. The candidate will work on a wide variety of projects including public and private buildings, structural evaluations, structural repairs, structural upgrades, waterfront structures, flood resiliency, and transit and rail facilities.


  • Currently ursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering is required (focus in Structural Engineering preferred)
  • Applicants should have exposure to related Civil/Structural engineering design, strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Assist with preparation of civil/structural engineering calculations, reports, construction drawings and specifications to meet project requirements. 
  • Proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD good working knowledge of MS Word and Excel required.

Summer Intern Program  

During the summer intern program, interns gain hands-on project experience, develop technical skills, and put their classroom knowledge into action. Our interns are assigned meaningful work and are given the opportunity to work on projects similar to what they would be engaging with as a full-time employee. 

Our interns get the opportunity to participate in a series of workshops and events, including: 

  • Networking opportunities to meet other interns, staff, and senior leaders across the business. 
  • Learning about our services, projects, and clients. 
  • Professional development workshops, including a career planning workshop and a DiSC assessment to learn more about themselves and how to work effectively with others. 
  • Summer-long group project where interns work alongside firm leaders to address issues that will impact our future strategy.
