Job description

Seeking a Senior Project Manager with naval shipyard experience for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Honolulu, HI. Relocate to Hawaii โ€“ Earn Up to a 40% Annual Bonus + Relocation Assistance!

Salary is up to $150K per year (based on experience)

The Project Manager will report to the Vice President of Programs and is responsible for the management and execution of commercial and military ship repair contracts ranging from $1M to $100M in value.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage all phases of ship repair projects, serving as the primary customer point of contact.
  • Lead project execution while ensuring compliance with contract requirements, schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with customers, engineers, estimators, production teams, subcontractors, and vessel stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans, and work sequencing.
  • Manage contract modifications, change orders, and customer negotiations.
  • Interpret technical documents, including specifications, NAVSEA Standard Items, drawings, blueprints, manuals, and test procedures.
  • Monitor project performance, risks, and progress to ensure successful completion.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to customers and executive leadership.
  • Supervise and mentor project management staff.
  • Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor activities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of ship repair or marine industry experience.
  • 5+ years of project management experience.
  • Experience managing federal/government contracts.
  • Required: Recent experience serving as Project Manager on U.S. Navy Surface Combatant ship repair availabilities within the last six (6) years.
  • Strong preference for candidates with Ship Repair Agreement (SRA) experience within the last six (6) years.
  • Must be able to demonstrate project management experience on U.S. Navy Surface Combatant availabilities, including availability name, period of performance, and a summary of work performed.
  • Knowledge of Navy Work Authorization Forms (WAFs), tagโ€‘out procedures, scheduling, and work sequencing.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project (or similar scheduling software).
  • U.S. citizenship required; must be eligible for security clearance and military base access.
  • Ability to obtain TWIC and DBIDS credentials.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Valid Hawaii REAL IDโ€‘compliant driver's license (or valid U.S. passport and Hawaii driver's license).
