Structural Project Engineer

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Renewables team. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. 

Requirements

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for the structural design of foundations and retaining walls for utility scale wind, battery storage and solar facilities. 
  • Prepares or directs the structural design reports, specifications, and plans.
  • Assist Project Managers in the drafting and design of utility scale solar projects.
  • Day to day support and input to Project Managers.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer required, S.E. registration a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience required.
  • Familiar with ASCE loading calculations.
  • Background in foundation design, including shallow spread footings, slab-on-grade, and deep foundations.
  • Sound verbal communication and technical writing skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) a must.
  • Proficient with structural engineering software, such as RISA, a plus.
  • AutoCAD drafting experience is a plus.
  • Geotechnical background is a plus.
  • Solar or wind energy background is a plus.
  • Minimal travel possible.
