Mack Industries is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our team of precast engineers and support the continued growth of our precast concrete solutions. This role oversees the design and development of precast concrete structures while providing technical leadership across engineering, manufacturing, sales, and operations teams.
The Engineering Manager plays a key role in ensuring products are designed for structural integrity, manufacturability, cost efficiency, and successful installation. This position combines engineering expertise, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality solutions for our customers.
Essential Functions
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and drafters while managing project priorities and workloads
  • Oversee engineering design activities, including structural analysis, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Review engineering designs to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with applicable standards
  • Provide technical support and solutions to Sales, Operations, Quality, Finance, and Production teams
  • Collaborate with Operations to improve product manufacturability, production efficiency, and installation processes
  • Partner with Finance and Operations to maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and optimize material usage
  • Support the development and maintenance of product catalogs, drawings, and sales-related specifications
  • Identify production challenges and implement effective engineering solutions
  • Assist with resolving quality concerns and customer issues through collaboration with Operations and Quality teams
  • Evaluate engineering systems, processes, and software to improve efficiency and sustainability
  • Maintain knowledge of precast concrete technologies, industry standards, and engineering best practices
  • Ensure engineering certifications and technical requirements are maintained
  • Prepare engineering proposals, plans, specifications, reports, and project documentation as needed

Leadership & Collaboration
  • Provide technical direction, coaching, and mentorship to engineering team members
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, customers, contractors, and industry partners
  • Lead project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation efforts
  • Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence
  • Communicate technical recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering required

Experience
  • Progressive experience in engineering, structural design, drafting, and specification interpretation
  • Experience with precast concrete design, manufacturing, or installation preferred
  • Prior engineering management or leadership experience preferred
  • Experience with infrastructure design, modeling, and regulatory compliance

Technical Skills
  • Proficiency with engineering design and modeling software
  • Experience with computer-aided drafting (CAD) systems
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documents
