About the Role
Infrastructure Engineering, Inc. (IEI) New York office is looking for an experienced Project Engineer - Structural. We are a leading engineering firm known for quality, responsiveness, and a proven track record of success as a Primecivil engineering firm. As the Project Engineer - Structural, you will work with the Project Manager on various transportation bridge design projects, structural assessments, and planning projects. The responsibilities for this role include preparing design computations, plans, and other related construction documents, preparing quantity and cost estimates, coordinating staff activities, and preparing technical documents internally and externally. Essential Duties/Functions and Responsibilities
* Analyzes and interprets engineering and construction documents, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
* Conducts periodic visits to construction sites as required.
* Engages in non-routine and complex assignments.
* Generally, works semi-autonomously but in close coordination with the Project Manager.
* May begin to handle some project management tasks but will primarily work on technical aspects within their discipline.
* Perform structural analysis and prepare design analyses on concrete foundations, steel towers, bridges, hanger systems, and other structural elements of a construction project.
* Prepares design computations, plans, and related construction documents.
* Prepares quantity and cost estimates.
* Prepares reports, studies, and permits for a variety of projects.
* Reviews drawings and documents to ensure compliance with design and production standards.
* Works with the Project Manager to develop design concepts that are incorporated into the final product by Staff Designers and Engineers.

Work Conditions
* IEI will provide a company vehicle for fieldwork with acceptable driver's record.

* Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions or in-progress construction hazards: fumes, toxic chemicals, risk of electric shock, and vibration. Often works around dust, asphalt, and concrete.
* Sometimes needs to put in extra hours, including weekends, to keep up with intense construction work at times and deal with unexpected situations and accidents.
* Spends some time working indoors to review blueprints and write reports.
* Usually works a standard 40-hour workweek either daytime or nighttime.
* Usually works in outside weather conditions.
