LJB offers challenging and rewarding assignments for Spring or Summer 2027 Co-op and Intern students in our Houston, TX office. Students work with experienced engineers and are exposed to a variety of civil engineering challenges. They also get the opportunity to work on real world projects in a professional environment.
Pay: $18+ an hour
STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING CO-OP ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist with engineering tasks related to structural design, analysis, and documentation.
  • Perform routine assignments under close supervision, following established standards, procedures, and drawings.
  • Gain exposure to both office-based and field-based work, including design planning, site visits, and construction processes.
  • Support project teams with technical calculations, reports, and documentation.
  • Contribute to CAD and/or BIM drawings and sketches under the guidance of senior engineers.

STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING CO-OP ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS:
Education:
  • Required: Currently enrolled in a Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering program at an accredited university.
  • Required: Must be entering junior or senior year of undergraduate studies at the time of the co-op.

Qualifications:
  • Prior academic or internship experience with structural design projects preferred.
  • Must be able to travel to various project sites.
  • Required: U.S. citizenship

Physical:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
  • Capable of lifting up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas
