Hospital Administrator | Behavioral Health | Louisiana


Freedom Behavioral Health is seeking an experienced healthcare executive to serve as the senior operational leader of our 82-bed acute psychiatric hospital serving adult and geriatric populations through inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services.


This role functions as the top on-site hospital leader responsible for overall facility operations, regulatory compliance, financial performance, employee leadership, patient satisfaction, physician relationships, and strategic growth initiatives.


The ideal candidate is a strong operational leader with hospital leadership experience, behavioral health knowledge, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment.


Position Responsibilities

  • Provide executive oversight of all hospital operations and department leaders
  • Lead clinical and non-clinical teams to ensure operational excellence and high-quality patient care
  • Drive employee engagement, accountability, retention, and organizational culture
  • Oversee budgeting, staffing productivity, financial performance, and operational metrics
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, state, and federal regulations
  • Partner with physicians, nursing leadership, and department directors to improve patient outcomes
  • Monitor hospital census, referral development, patient satisfaction, and quality indicators
  • Lead strategic planning, performance improvement initiatives, and hospital growth efforts
  • Serve as the primary operational leader for the facility and representative within the community


Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or related field
  • Minimum 35 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience required
  • Prior hospital leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Behavioral health or psychiatric hospital experience preferred
  • Experience overseeing multiple departments and leading department directors
  • Strong understanding of hospital operations, compliance, budgeting, staffing, and payer requirements
  • Proven leadership, decision-making, and team development skills
