Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with various aspects of patient care. The RN plans, implements, and documents nursing care tailored to the unique needs of each patient.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify patient needs and establish priorities for care through comprehensive assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Develop and coordinate individualized plans of care for assigned patients via ongoing assessments.
  • Initiate assessments based on the patient's concerns, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
  • Perform therapeutic nursing interventions in alignment with evidence-based practices.
  • Document patient care according to established standards of care, practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
  • Advocate for the adoption of evidence-based practice care standards to enhance patient care delivery.
  • Deliver patient-centric care in accordance with professional nursing practice models.
  • Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications: Required Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior RN experience in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit within a major acute care hospital setting.
  • Strong background in Medical Surgical/Telemetry nursing.
Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused demeanor.
Education: Required Education:
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
Preferred Education:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Certifications & Licensure: Required Certifications:
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
  • Telemetry certification.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) from the American Heart Association.
  • Continuing Education Unit (CEU) for Stroke (4 hours).
  • New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
Schedule:
  • 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 3 shifts per week.
  • Every other weekend required.
  • 3 of the 6 observed holidays required.
  • Floating to other units may be required.
Additional Information:

This position involves working in a busy 52-bed Medical Surgical unit where patients may sometimes be step-down patients. The typical patient assignment will be 1:4 or 1:5.

Scrubs are to be navy blue.
