The facility is home to a specialized Neuroscience Institute that offers an integrated, interdisciplinary approach to neurological care, combining state-of-the-art technology with a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.

Job Details:
  • Permanent night shift position within the Stroke Program as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN)
  • Provide holistic, quality, and cost-effective advanced practice care for patients, families, and others in a target population
  • Participate in the medical management of patients to achieve or maintain optimal health status, manage disease, and reduce risk of illness
  • Engage in independent decision-making regarding the health care of individuals, families, and groups across the lifespan and health care continuum
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team planning and delivering care for neurology, stroke, and complex disorders affecting blood supply to the brain and spinal cord
  • Conditions managed include brain aneurysms, carotid artery disease, cervical artery dissection, vascular malformations, and other disorders of the nervous system
  • Collaborate with neurology attending physicians, rehabilitation teams, nurses, and other healthcare team members
  • Receive extensive onboarding and training throughout the entire continuum of stroke care
  • Training provided in medication management, neuroradiology, condition-specific physical examination, and treatment planning
  • Current APRN license required (post-1994) with certification according to CT state law
  • Completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner Program required if appropriate for specialty
  • Master's Degree in Nursing strongly preferred
  • Specific experience in specialty may be required
