Job description

AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking a dynamic and quality-focused neuro-hospitalist to join their expanding neurosciences service line and collaborative team in the AdventHealth East Division. This role involves continuing a tradition of excellence in clinical practice and professionalism within a program that has invested in innovation and achieved high-quality outcomes in brain and spine care. The successful candidate will contribute to a dedicated team that has earned numerous accreditations and awards.

Practice Info

  • Part of AdventHealth Medical Group, a sister organization of AdventHealth, employing 350+ physicians in 27 individual service lines.
  • This aligned model and practice management experience provides the opportunity for physicians to focus on the clinical aspects of medicine.
  • Call coverage is provided.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical management and comprehensive evaluation of inpatient neurological patients.
  • Clinical management and knowledge of the AHA Stroke Management Patient Care Guidelines.
  • Formulate and initiate individualized treatment plans based on therapeutic principles.
  • Interpret common laboratory, electrographic, and radiologic findings and intervene appropriately.
  • Evaluate, provide, and facilitate appropriate education for patients and families.
  • Evaluate and provide for patient discharge needs with specific recommendations for follow up in the outpatient setting.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, management, staff, patients, and families to ensure coordinated and cohesive execution of quality patient care in a timely manner.
  • Effectively and consistently collaborate with members of the health care team to coordinate treatment plans, specific patient concerns, and discharge planning.

  • Board Certification / Eligibility through the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology.

  • DEA License required or ability to obtain.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with attending hospitalists and ED team.
  • Strong communication skills.
