An ever-growing number of government agencies and contractors have selected Stripe-A-Zone to meet their pavement striping needs. As the undisputed North American pavement marking leader, our company proudly provides its customers with unparalleled customer service and the use of innovative technology to ensure timely and value-added results. In our time of growth, we are looking to add an experienced Short Line Striping Foreman to our Grand Prairie team.

Job Summary:

The Short Line Striping Foreman is responsible for overseeing all aspects of short line striping and detail pavement marking projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Stripe-A-Zone’s high standards. This role involves supervising crews, coordinating with clients, preparing layouts, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and traffic/pedestrian control requirements. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with striping, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Supervise, train, and organize short line striping crews to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to quality standards.

·       Lead and perform layout work for municipalities, state agencies, and private facilities (detail markings, directional arrows, legends, crosswalks, stop bars, and other stencils/symbols).

·       Operate or oversee the operation of short line striping equipment (walk-behind thermoplastic stripers, performed thermoplastic equipment, preform cold tape installation equipment, and raised pavement marker equipment), ensuring clean lines, proper thickness/coverage, and accurate placement.

·       Coordinate daily work plans, job sequencing, site readiness, and material requirements (marking materials, stencils, masking, and prep supplies).

·       Perform site preparation such as cleaning/blowing surfaces, minor surface prep, protecting areas from overspray, and ensuring proper drying/curing conditions.

·       Implement and enforce jobsite safety practices, including PPE use and proper traffic/pedestrian control for active parking lots and facilities, in compliance with OSHA and applicable local requirements.

·       Communicate professionally with clients, property managers, and project stakeholders regarding site access, schedule impacts, safety needs, and punch-list completion.

·       Inspect completed work for accuracy and workmanship; correct deficiencies promptly and ensure a clean, professional job closeout.

·       Maintain equipment, including routine maintenance, cleaning, troubleshooting, and minor repairs; ensure tools and vehicles are job-ready.

·       Track production and materials used; complete daily reports (hours, quantities, locations, and any jobsite issues/changes).

·       Mentor crew members in best practices for layout, stenciling, striping technique, and safe work habits; provide coaching and corrective action as needed.

Qualifications:

·       Minimum 3 years of experience in short line striping, parking lot striping, or pavement marking operations (foreman/lead experience strongly preferred).

·       Demonstrated ability to lead a crew in an outdoor, production-focused environment while maintaining quality and safety.

·       Strong knowledge of short line striping methods, layout techniques, stenciling, and the equipment/materials used in pavement marking.

·       Ability to read and interpret job instructions, site plans, drawings, and specifications.

·       Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills; customer-service mindset.

·       Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus (as required by role/vehicle assignment).

·       Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting/moving materials up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Skills:

·       Experience working in active traffic environments (intersections, turn lanes, travel lanes, highway gores, school zones) with strong pedestrian/vehicle awareness.

·       Familiarity with traffic/pedestrian control procedures and safety compliance requirements.

·       Ability to train and develop crew members, set expectations, and maintain productive teamwork.

·       Experience with a variety of marking applications such as intersection markings, legends/arrows, lane lines, bicycle lanes, and specialty markings.

Working Conditions:

·       Primarily outdoor work in all weather conditions.

·       Work may occur during off-hours (nights/weekends) to reduce disruption at active facilities when needed.
