Stretching Coach information

What is a stretching coach?

A stretching coach is a fitness professional who specializes in helping individuals improve their flexibility, mobility, and range of motion through guided stretching exercises. They assess clients’ needs, develop personalized stretching routines, and provide hands-on assistance or instruction to ensure exercises are performed safely and effectively. Stretching coaches often work with athletes, people recovering from injuries, or anyone looking to enhance their physical well-being by preventing stiffness and reducing the risk of injury.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a stretching coach, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Stretching Coach, you need a strong understanding of anatomy, flexibility training techniques, and typically a certification in fitness or personal training. Familiarity with assessment tools, stretching equipment, and fitness tracking software is often required. Excellent communication, motivational skills, and the ability to tailor programs to individual needs help set top coaches apart. These skills are crucial for ensuring client safety, achieving flexibility goals, and building lasting client relationships.

What are some common challenges a stretching coach faces when working with clients of varying flexibility levels?

As a Stretching Coach, one of the main challenges is adapting routines to accommodate clients with different flexibility, mobility, and physical limitations. It's important to assess each individual's baseline and design personalized stretching plans that are safe yet effective. Additionally, coaches often need to motivate clients to be consistent and patient, as progress in flexibility can be gradual. Clear communication and proper demonstration are key to preventing injuries and ensuring clients understand correct techniques.

What is the difference between Stretching Coach vs Personal Trainer?

AspectStretching CoachPersonal Trainer

Work EnvironmentGyms, wellness centers, private studios, onlineGyms, fitness centers, private studios, outdoor
Industry UsageFocuses on flexibility, injury prevention, recoveryFocuses on overall fitness, strength, weight loss, and conditioning

While both roles promote health and wellness, a Stretching Coach specializes in improving flexibility and mobility through targeted stretching routines, often working with clients on injury prevention and recovery. A Personal Trainer offers comprehensive fitness programs including strength, cardio, and weight management. The two roles may overlap, but their primary focus and certifications differ, making each suited for specific client needs.

How much is a stretching coach?

The average hourly rate for a stretching coach ranges from $30 to $80, depending on experience, location, and whether they work independently or for a gym. Some coaches offer package deals or group sessions, which can affect overall costs. Certification in fitness or flexibility training can also influence pricing.

How to become a stretching coach?

To become a stretching coach, you typically need to gain knowledge of anatomy and flexibility techniques through certification programs or courses in fitness, physical therapy, or sports science. Many employers prefer candidates with CPR certification and experience in coaching or personal training, and obtaining a specialized stretching or flexibility certification can enhance credibility and job prospects.

Membership Sales Manager – StretchLab Bethany

StretchLab Bethany is seeking a driven, accountable, technology-savvy, and results-oriented Membership Sales Manager to lead studio sales, develop a high-performing sales culture, and help more people move and feel better through assisted stretching.

This is a hands-on sales leadership position. The Membership Sales Manager is expected to personally generate and close sales while also coaching and developing the sales team.

If you enjoy prospecting, building relationships, making sales, coaching people, using technology, and being accountable for measurable results, this may be a great opportunity for you.

ABOUT STRETCHLAB

StretchLab is the industry leader in one-on-one assisted stretching. Our Flexologists help clients improve flexibility, mobility, and overall quality of life through customized assisted stretching sessions.

At StretchLab Bethany, we're building a team focused on service, growth, accountability, and community impact.

POSITION SUMMARY

As the Membership Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving membership growth, increasing revenue, generating new business, developing community partnerships, and leading the studio's sales efforts.

This role is approximately 80–90% sales-focused and is ideal for someone who enjoys prospecting, building relationships, generating referrals, following up with leads, closing memberships, and coaching team members.

You will be expected to lead by example and maintain strong personal sales production while helping the sales team improve its performance.

SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE
  • Consistently achieving or exceeding membership and revenue goals
  • Personally generating and closing sales
  • Maintaining strong lead follow-up and conversion rates
  • Consistently meeting required sales activity expectations
  • Keeping CRM activity, notes, and follow-up accurate and up to date
  • Developing and coaching a high-performing sales team
  • Holding team members accountable to agreed-upon sales activities and goals
  • Building referral partnerships within the local community
  • Increasing member referrals and retention
  • Creating a positive, professional, and results-driven culture
  • Learning new systems and processes quickly and independently
  • Taking ownership of problems and finding solutions rather than waiting to be told what to do
TECHNOLOGY SKILLS ARE IMPORTANT

This position requires daily use of multiple technology systems.

You will work with CRM software, scheduling and booking systems, point-of-sale systems, email, texting platforms, spreadsheets, reporting tools, and other business applications.

You do not need previous experience with our specific systems, but you must be comfortable learning new technology quickly and independently.

We are looking for someone who can figure things out, learn new software without extensive hand-holding, and troubleshoot basic technology issues before asking for assistance.

If you become frustrated by new software, require extensive step-by-step instruction to learn basic computer systems, or generally prefer to avoid technology, this position will not be a good fit.

AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum availability of two evenings per week
  • Minimum availability of one weekend day per week
  • Ability to attend community events, networking functions, and outreach opportunities as needed
  • Reliable attendance and consistent availability are essential
REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum two years of sales experience
  • Proven ability to generate leads, conduct follow-up, and close sales
  • Previous management, leadership, or team coaching experience preferred
  • Strong track record of achieving sales goals or quotas
  • Strong communication skills in person, by phone, text, and email
  • Comfortable discussing pricing, overcoming objections, and confidently asking for the sale
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable with outbound prospecting and consistent follow-up
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Highly comfortable learning and using technology
  • Ability to quickly learn CRM, scheduling, POS, reporting, and other business systems
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of results
  • Ability to coach, motivate, and hold others accountable
  • Passion for fitness, wellness, and helping people improve their quality of life

Experience in fitness, wellness, hospitality, retail, healthcare, or membership-based businesses is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Drive membership sales and achieve monthly revenue and membership goals
  • Personally generate and close new membership sales
  • Generate leads through prospecting, networking, community outreach, referrals, and marketing initiatives
  • Follow up with leads through phone calls, text messages, and email
  • Conduct studio tours and introductory consultations
  • Present membership options and confidently close sales
  • Maintain consistent personal sales activity and production
  • Build relationships with members to increase retention and referrals

  • Plan and execute community events, promotions, and marketing initiatives
  • Coach, train, and develop Membership Sales Specialists
  • Monitor sales activity, lead management, conversion rates, and other key performance indicators
  • Hold sales team members accountable for agreed-upon activity and performance goals
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and ensure timely follow-up
  • Use studio technology and business systems accurately and efficiently
  • Learn new systems and processes as the business evolves
  • Collaborate with Flexologists and studio leadership to deliver an exceptional client experience
  • Assist with front desk operations when needed
  • Ensure the studio remains clean, organized, and professional
  • Perform other duties as assigned
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Base salary: $41,600–$49,920 plus uncapped commissions and performance bonuses
  • Commission on membership sales
  • Commission on retail sales
  • Tiered bonuses tied to studio performance
  • Top-performing Membership Sales Managers can significantly exceed the posted compensation range through commissions and bonuses
  • Paid training
  • Complimentary stretch sessions
  • Employee discounts on memberships and retail products
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Potential healthcare stipend
  • Professional development and growth opportunities
  • Opportunity to advance within a growing wellness brand
WHO WILL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE

You'll thrive here if you:

  • Like being measured by results
  • Are comfortable with accountability
  • Enjoy making sales and hitting goals
  • Lead by example
  • Can coach others without being afraid to hold them accountable
  • Follow up consistently rather than waiting for opportunities to come to you
  • Learn new technology quickly
  • Take initiative and solve problems independently
  • Are organized and detail-oriented
  • Show up prepared and follow through on commitments
  • Enjoy building relationships and becoming involved in the local community

This is not a passive management position. The successful candidate will be actively involved in sales every day and will be expected to lead from the front.

HOW TO APPLY

Please submit your resume and answer the application questions thoroughly.

We are particularly interested in learning about:

  • Your previous sales experience
  • What products or services you sold
  • Your sales goals or quotas
  • How you performed against those goals
  • Your previous leadership or management experience
  • The CRM, POS, scheduling, reporting, and other business software you've used
  • An example of a time you had to learn a new technology or software system quickly

Our hiring process may include a sales role-play and a short technology assessment.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate both sales ability and the ability to learn and use technology effectively.

If you're a motivated sales leader who enjoys building relationships, developing people, using technology, and creating measurable results, we'd love to meet you.
