Job description

Profession:  Nuclear Medicine Tech

Job Type: Contract

Hourly Pay Rate: $76/hr

Duration - 13 weeks

Shift: Day Shift (5x8 hours) 9:00am-5:30pm

Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of nuclear medicine imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Prepare, calculate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately.
  • Operate gamma cameras, SPECT, and/or PET/CT equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Monitor patients throughout procedures and provide excellent patient care and education.
  • Follow all radiation safety standards, infection control policies, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
  • Perform quality control procedures on imaging equipment and maintain required logs.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Experience Required: 1 year
  • License Required: ARRT (N), NMT from CDPH
  • Certifications Required: AHA BLS
  • Equipment - Siemens or Toshiba required.
  • Experience with: Storage, handling, and disposal of radioactive materials, IV starts, HIDA scan, Cardiac stress testing, Lung Scan, Bone Scan, Thyroid Scan, Uptake, computerized documentation, isolation precautions.
  • Experience with PILL and Whole Body Scan, I-131 Pill and Whole Body Scan, Gastric Emptying, Whole Body Bone Scan, 3 Phase Bone Scan, Limited Bone Scan, Parathyroid Scan, Perfusion Lung Scan, Perfusion/Ventilation Lung Scan, Quantitative Lung Scan, Urea Breath Test, GI Bleed, Liver Spleen Scan, WBC Scan, Gallium Scan, DAT Scan, Brain Spect, HIDA Scan, HIDA w CCK Scan, Spect Bone Scan, Muga Scan, Mekel's Scan, Lymphoscintigraphy Scan and Injection, Adernal Imaging, Cardiac Stress Test Exercise, Cardiac Stress Test Vasodialator, Cardiac Stress Test Thallium Scan, Cardiac Amlydosis
