What You Will Do
The Senior Product Manufacturing Engineer will provide support to CSMC manufacturing operations and drive improvement for increasing first pass yield using MRL tools such as PFMEA, Process Map, Control Plan, Gage R&R and rigorous data analysis on Major Rotating Parts.
The Senior Product Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the entire manufacturing value stream of a specific part or part family. The scope of this role will include PW internal shop and may also include supply chain support components on the assigned part family.
Responsibilities
  • With specific parts ownership, provide direct support to the manufacturing shop floor and drive manufacturing process improvements across multiple process steps that span the full value stream of the parts
  • As a key member of the Integrated Product Team (IPT), and the primary manufacturing point-of-contact (POC) for a specific part family, engage Process Manufacturing Engineers, Design Engineers, Project Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Structural Engineers to perform Root Cause analysis and implement appropriate Corrective Actions
  • Identify, track, and coordinate execution of projects that support reducing Cost of Poor Quality, and improve operational capacity using project management tools in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Drive targeted manufacturing process optimization activities through MRL tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Process Flow Diagram, PFMEA, Control Plans, Measurement Systems Analysis, Yield & Cost Curves and Qualification Plans
  • Drive KPC management and leverage PPAP elements for increasing First Pass Yield across the manufacturing value stream
  • Fully document problem statements, observations, conclusions, calculations and recommendations
  • Communicate to and work with senior management for risk escalation and risk mitigation plans
  • Support the project pipeline process to select, prioritize and scope projects to increase First Pass Yield and throughput across the value stream

Qualifications You Must Have
  • B.S. in a STEM field and minimum 5 years' experience in Manufacturing related field or master's degree with a minimum of 3 years' experience in Manufacturing related field.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contracts
  • Experience managing multiple competing priorities simultaneously
  • Experience reading and interpreting complex blueprints
  • Effective team player with strong interpersonal skills capable of influencing, and getting cooperation from other disciplines
  • Experience in a Manufacturing Shop Environment
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office computer software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Six Sigma project leadership/management/coaching experience preferred
  • Experience in project management tools like MS Projects, or Smartsheets
  • Experience with PW software tools like Solumina and SAP
  • Experience in using UG/NX and Teamcenter software suites
  • Proficiency in statistics, data analytics, DOE, and multivariate statistics
  • Experience in using Minitab and other statistical software for analysis
  • Previous experience with working on Rotating Gas Turbine Parts

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
