The Role


As Manager, Strategy Execution, you will support complex strategic initiatives across CPP Investments, helping define business outcomes, manage execution risks, strengthen governance and enable effective decision-making by senior leaders.


The Team


CPP Investments is a global investment management organization established to help the Canada Pension Plan remain financially sustainable for the long term. The organization's strategy is built on diversification, active management and disciplined capital allocation to help the Fund remain resilient through market cycles.

The Strategy Execution Function supports the successful execution of complex strategic initiatives and helps build strategy execution capabilities across CPP Investments. The team partners cross-functionally to deliver key business outcomes, enhance efficiency and support long-term organizational goals.

Accountabilities

  • Support strategic initiatives across the project lifecycle, including project setup, execution, governance, budgeting, close-out and impact measurement

  • Define business opportunities, outcomes and OKRs to help initiatives achieve intended value and impact

  • Apply structured problem-solving, analysis and content development to support senior leader decision-making

  • Identify project risks, roadblocks and mitigation strategies, including change management recommendations

  • Provide ongoing support to MDs and Directors, including documenting meeting outcomes, actions, risks and decisions

  • Develop clear presentations, reporting and visual materials for senior leaders and Steering Committees

  • Establish KPIs and metrics to monitor business performance and provide insights to stakeholders

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in strategic transformation and execution, ideally managing enterprise-level change initiatives

  • Experience in consulting, investment management or financial services

  • Strong ability to analyze and synthesize complex information and identify key insights that move initiatives forward

  • Experience working on complex projects or initiatives, including change management, stakeholder management and strategic frameworks

  • Ability to develop senior management materials, reporting and decision-support content

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build engagement across cross-functional groups

  • Ability to use innovative tools, including AI, to identify risks, opportunities and emerging issues, with a curious mindset and confidence engaging in thoughtful, practical conversations about AI
