Role Profile
The primary role of the Corporate Strategy Analyst will be to help the managers and the Director of their strategy teams gather and analyze data during strategy development and implementation projects, and to help them document the projects' findings and recommendations. It is expected that the person filling this position will support the execution of all aspects of strategy development. This full-time position, ideally based in Kingsport, TN, and reports to a Strategy Director.
Responsibilities
  • Gain a basic understanding of the strategy process and key strategy and EBME methods and frameworks.
  • Assist the Strategy Managers and the Strategy Director in whatever way useful during strategy development and implementation projects, but particularly by:
  • Reviewing primary and secondary research (e.g., transcripts, reports) to extract data needed to populate key strategy frameworks, and to create tailored data sets
  • Interviewing and documenting the ideas of internal (and external) subject matter experts
  • Creating spreadsheets and economic models and using them to analyze key issues.
  • Identifying implications revealed by the frameworks and models.
  • Drafting materials - presentations, data sets, etc. - to be used during strategy workshops and meetings, capturing and documenting the results of those workshops and meetings.
  • Creating presentation materials to be used to document and report the strategy team's findings and recommendations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • Technical, Business or Marketing undergraduate degree preferred but not required.
  • Evidence of exceptional performance as an Undergraduate Student and / or evidence of quantitative analysis required.
  • 1 to 2 years' experience in analytical role (marketing, sales, etc. preferred)
  • Consulting/professional services firm or as part of the corporate strategy group of a leading corporation preferred.
