The ideal candidate demonstrates initiative, adaptability, and sound judgment-capable of navigating technical drawings, regulatory frameworks, and supplier challenges with clarity, creativity, and confidence.

What You'll Do

  • Own Material BOM Estimating: Partner with purchasing and engineering to build accurate, compliant Bill of Materials (BOMs) for proposals, ensuring alignment with FAR/DFARS requirements.

  • Support Procurement/Sourcing Strategy Formation: Collaborate with program and manufacturing teams to define procurement strategies that meet cost, schedule, and technical requirements.
  • Engage Early: Participate in pre-proposal planning to identify critical supply chain risks and formulate sourcing approaches.
  • Solve Problems Independently: Investigate and resolve supplier issues using data, technical insight, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Interpret Technical Data: Review RFPs, SOWs, and build-to-print packages to understand material requirements and support sourcing approaches.
  • Communicate Proactively: Ensure alignment across purchasing, manufacturing, and program teams through clear and consistent communication.

What You Bring

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related technical field and 10 years of relevant experience or additional years of experience in lieu of degree.

  • Experience:
    • Proven success in supply chain or sourcing roles with a strong technical component.
    • Hands-on experience with technical drawings, RFPs, and government acquisition regulations.
  • Skills:

    • Self-starter with a "figure it out" attitude.
    • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities.
  • Certifications: CSCP, CPIM, or equivalent preferred.

Work Environment

This role involves frequent collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and program teams. Success depends on your ability to independently navigate complex, technical, and regulatory landscapes while delivering sourcing solutions that meet program needs.
