Job Title: Procurement Manager – Solar, Storage & Substation

Job Summary

Louth Callan is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Procurement Manager to join our growing team in the renewable energy and power infrastructure sector. In this critical role, you will lead procurement efforts for high-value materials and equipment used in utility-scale solar, energy storage, and substation construction projects. You will be responsible for negotiating favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, securing competitive pricing, and maintaining a forward-looking view of emerging technologies and products in the power infrastructure space.

As a Procurement Manager, you will play a key role in optimizing project costs, ensuring supply chain reliability, and supporting Louth Callan’s mission to deliver high-quality renewable energy infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation: Lead negotiations of commercial terms and conditions (T&Cs), pricing agreements, and long-term contracts with domestic and international suppliers and vendors.

Material Procurement: Secure competitive pricing and reliable supply for key solar, storage, and substation components, including:


Inverters

Wire and cabling

BLAs (Battery Link Assemblies)

Combiner boxes

Racking systems

Foundations

Transformers, switchgear, and other balance-of-system (BOS) equipment


Cost Optimization: Continuously drive cost savings through effective negotiations, volume commitments, alternative sourcing strategies, and value engineering.

Market Intelligence: Stay at the cutting edge of new products, technologies, and innovations in power infrastructure. Monitor market trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies (e.g., next-gen inverters, advanced racking systems, improved energy storage components).

Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key suppliers. Conduct supplier evaluations, performance reviews, and risk assessments.

Risk Mitigation: Proactively manage supply chain risks, including lead times, pricing volatility, geopolitical factors, and material shortages.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Project Development, Engineering, Construction, and Finance teams to align procurement strategies with project needs and timelines.

Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage procurement contracts, purchase orders, and vendor agreements to ensure compliance and favorable commercial protections.

Reporting & Analysis: Track procurement metrics (savings, on-time delivery, cost variance) and provide regular reports to senior leadership.

Requirements:

Qualifications & Requirements


Experience: 5+ years of procurement experience in construction, renewable energy, power infrastructure, or heavy industrial sectors. Previous experience with solar PV, BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems), or substation projects is strongly preferred.

Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of solar, storage, and substation equipment and materials.

Negotiation Skills: Proven track record of successfully negotiating multi-million-dollar contracts and achieving significant cost savings.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (MBA or CPSM certification a plus).
