Job description

Job Title: Strategic Planner 

Function/Department: Strategy Office / Global Services

Reports to: Senior Director Service Strategy and Portfolio

Location: Westerville

Job Summary

The Service Strategic Planner, reporting to the Senior Director Service Strategy and Portfolio, is responsible for maintaining, governing, and continuously improving the global service planning environment. This role ensures alignment between Corporate strategic directives and Global Business Unit (GBU) strategies, translating them into structured service roadmaps, portfolio priorities, and executable planning frameworks.

The position acts as the central coordination point for global service planning deliverables, ensuring visibility, consistency, prioritization, and governance across regions and business units. The role requires strong strategic thinking, structured planning capability, and the ability to operate across a complex, matrixed organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate Corporate strategy into actionable service planning frameworks.
  • Standardize planning templates, KPIs, and deliverable expectations across GBU and Regions.
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment of inputs for strategic corporate reviews and executive reporting.
  • Support investment prioritization based on strategic impact, ROI, and resource capacity.
  • Manage Global Service interlocks meetings cadence in the overall company executive calendar.
  • Be the focal point and drive pro-active project cadence and "drumbeat" with a diverse set of stakeholders to ensure timely and successful outcomes.
  • Coordinate preparation of corporate-required planning deliverables (strategy reviews, growth plans, transformation updates).
  • Develop executive-level presentations and dashboards.
  • Provide structured insights and scenario analysis to senior leadership.
  • Track performance against strategic targets.
  • Ensure transparency and communication across matrix stakeholders
  • Support teams and business leaders in structuring business cases, customer segmentation, competitive analysis, value-based pricing, economic benchmarking, and service strategic performance analyses across business segments.
  • Structure customer and market-segmentation, developing and working with market models, deriving insight from internal and external data sources.

Recommendations and Execution:

  • Ability to self-manage multiple projects and work streams in a dynamic international environment.
  • Work collaboratively and support multi-departmental efforts and projects.
  • Communicate effectively across the organization and be flexible in managing diverse tasks and assignments.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as internal strategic planning or business consulting function.
  • Degree in business administration, Marketing, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Program management experience
  • Core Competencies:
    • Proven experience supporting investment prioritization and business case evaluation, with strong capabilities in long-range planning and scenario modeling.
    • Strong organizational and coordination capability across global stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated ability to build trusted executive relationships and communicate effectively across diverse international cultures.
