What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in Strategic Logistics, and why are they important?

To thrive in Strategic Logistics, you need strong analytical skills, supply chain management knowledge, and typically a degree in logistics, business, or a related field. Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, transportation management systems (TMS), and relevant certifications like APICS CPIM or CSCMP are often required. Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills help individuals navigate complex supply chains and coordinate cross-functional teams. These skills are crucial for optimizing logistics operations, reducing costs, and ensuring efficient, timely delivery of goods.

How does a Strategic Logistics professional typically collaborate with other departments to optimize supply chain efficiency?

Strategic Logistics professionals work closely with teams in procurement, production, sales, and IT to ensure that the end-to-end supply chain operates smoothly and efficiently. They often coordinate with procurement to align supplier capabilities, collaborate with production to plan inventory levels, and consult with sales to anticipate demand fluctuations. Regular cross-functional meetings and data sharing are common practices to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements. This collaborative approach helps drive cost reductions, improve customer satisfaction, and support overall business goals.

What are strategic logistics?

Strategic logistics refers to the planning and management of logistics operations with a long-term, organization-wide perspective. This includes the coordination of transportation, inventory, warehousing, and distribution to ensure the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods and materials. Strategic logistics aims to align the supply chain with business goals, improve customer satisfaction, and gain a competitive advantage in the market. Professionals in this field analyze trends, forecast demands, and implement solutions that optimize the entire logistics process.

Job description

At INRIX, our mission is to help the world sidestep global gridlock by equipping cities, drivers, and businesses with industry-leading data, actionable insights, and innovative tools that enhance mobility and safety from the first mile to the last. Our commitment to client success and our passion for innovative problem-solving drive us to create solutions that keep the world moving smarter and more efficiently. We are excited to announce an opening for an experienced Account Manager to lead and expand our partnership with one of INRIX’s largest and most strategic global logistics customers.  This pivotal, quota-carrying role is focused on driving significant growth and maximizing the value our customer gains from INRIX’s mobility solutions.  The ideal candidate brings deep experience working with large-scale, complex enterprise organizations, particularly in logistics, transportation, or technology-driven environments.

Success in this role requires strong technical acumen, the ability to navigate sophisticated operational ecosystems, and a proactive approach to identifying expansion opportunities.  While familiarity with INRIX products is helpful, the most critical capability is anticipating customer needs, uncovering growth opportunities, and partnering to solve complex logistics and mobility challenges.

This position reports to the VP, Customer Success and is hybrid based in our Bellevue, WA office with four days in office and Friday WFH.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage key customer success criteria such as usage, adoption, issue resolution, renewal and contract management activities
  • Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities across multiple business units and service areas
  • Frequent on-site presence to promote meaningful and spontaneous face-to-face meetings, “walk the halls” to establish new relevant relationships, tighter liaising and coordination between local teams (Product, Engineering, GTM) and liaise in real-time (and frequently) with procurement and the local teams to drive usage, issue identification and resolution, adoption and commercial pathways for growth
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders, acting as a strategic advisor and advocate
  • Coordinate (leading when necessary) onboarding, enablement, training to maximize impact of INRIX solutions
  • Execute strategic account plans with clear milestones aligned to customer priorities and revenue goals
  • Deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations tailored to logistics optimization, transportation planning, and safety initiatives
  • Drive account expansion through cross-sell and upsell opportunities
  • Represent customer feedback internally to inform product development and go-to-market strategy
  • Participate in industry events, webinars, and forums as a representative of INRIX and its solutions
  • Serve as the holistic ownership of the account as the focused owner of the customer and have overall accountability to both INRIX and the Customer (a “one throat to choke”) across all activity
Requirements
  • Experience working with large, complex enterprise customers in logistics, e-commerce, transportation, or technology sectors
  • Deep understanding of the customer’s logistics operations, workflows, technical environment, and mobility challenges to accelerate value realization
  • Demonstrated success in Account Management, Customer Success, or strategic partnership roles within SaaS or DaaS environments
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and executive audiences
  • Technical fluency and ability to navigate complex systems and data environments
  • Commercial mindset with a track record of identifying growth opportunities and delivering results
  • Ability to operate as a strategic partner in highly matrixed organizations
  • Ability to have on-site presence in very close proximity to the customer in Bellevue, WA
Why INRIX?
  • Work alongside a passionate team solving real-world transportation and logistics challenges using big data
  • Competitive Salary, Benefits, and 401K matching
  • No policy vacation policy, it’s flexible and always has been
  • A boat on Lake Washington - get your license, and we’ll pay for the gas
  • The people and passion - meet and work with people who are smart, helpful, and love what they’re doing
  • The opportunity to make a big impact on both the company on the future of mobility and logistics
If you’re excited to partner with a leading global logistics organization, drive meaningful impact, and own a high-growth, strategic account, we’d love to hear from you.
