Job Purpose

Reporting to the Head of PMO, the Senior Project Manager leads strategic initiatives from early concept through planning, execution, and delivery.


This role acts as a trusted partner to business leadership, helping shape initiatives and translating high-level concepts into structured, executable plans aligned with CanDeal’s delivery framework.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


Business Partnering & Initiative Structuring

  • Partner with Business Leaders and Sponsors to shape ideas into clear objectives, scope, and delivery approach
  • Support business discussions and materials for stakeholder alignment and funding
  • Translate business needs into structured scope, outcomes, and deliverables
  • Guide stakeholders on project structure and governance while maintaining momentum


Project Delivery & Execution

  • Own end-to-end delivery, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and milestones
  • Lead cross-functional teams across Business, Technology, and external vendors


Governance, Risk & Controls

  • Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints
  • Provide concise, decision-oriented status reporting
  • Own change control processes, ensuring appropriate discipline and approvals


Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships with business, technology, and vendor stakeholders
  • Act as a bridge between business and delivery teams
  • Influence stakeholders to adopt appropriate structure and delivery discipline


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
  • Project Management certifications (PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, PSM, etc.)
  • 10+ years Project Management experience across Waterfall, Agile or Hybrid environments
  • Experience delivering complex initiatives, preferably within financial services
  • Experience working with senior business stakeholders


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong project planning and delivery capability
  • Proficiency with MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, and MS Office Suite
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to structure ambiguous problems into clear, actionable plans
  • Ability to influence and facilitate discussions at all levels
