The Project Manager, Strategic Initiatives is responsible for leading and coordinating high-priority organizational projects that support MEDIKO’s strategic growth and operational objectives. This role oversees cross-functional initiatives across clinical operations, site launches, and enterprise operational improvements. 

Working closely with executive leadership and operational teams, the Manager ensures that strategic projects and new site launches are planned, coordinated, and executed effectively across departments including operations, human resources, recruiting, credentialing, compliance, and finance. This role serves as the central point of coordination for project planning, timeline management, risk mitigation, and executive reporting to ensure projects are delivered on time and aligned with organizational priorities. 

How YOU can Make an Impact:

Strategic Initiative Leadership 

  • Lead planning and execution of key initiatives identified in MEDIKO’s strategic plan. 

  • Develop project charters, work plans, and implementation timelines for enterprise initiatives. 

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment across operations, HR, recruiting, compliance, finance, and other departments. 

  • Monitor project progress, identify risks or operational barriers, and implement mitigation strategies. 

  • Provide regular project updates and executive summaries to senior leadership. 

New Site Launch Coordination 

  • Oversee planning and execution of new correctional healthcare site launches. 

  • Develop and maintain launch timelines, operational readiness plans, and project milestones. 

  • Coordinate cross-department activities required for launch readiness, including staffing, credentialing, training, operational workflows, and compliance requirements. 

  • Track progress against launch deliverables and escalate issues that may impact readiness or timelines. 

  • Facilitate launch planning meetings and maintain project documentation and launch readiness tracking tools. 

Information Systems & Technology Implementation 

  • Coordinate implementation of systems related to electronic health records (EHR), credentialing platforms, HRIS/ATS systems, scheduling systems, and operational reporting tools. 

  • Support development of standardized reporting dashboards and data tracking tools to improve operational visibility and decision-making. 

  • Collaborate with leadership to identify technology-driven process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and scalability. 

Clinical Operations Support 

  • Partner with operational leadership to support implementation of clinical programs, operational improvements, and regulatory initiatives. 

  • Ensure operational processes and clinical workflows are prepared for new sites or program implementations. 

  • Assist leadership with coordinating operational changes across multiple sites when new programs or systems are introduced. 

Reporting and Project Tracking 

  • Develop and maintain project dashboards, status reports, and milestone tracking tools. 

  • Provide leadership visibility into project progress, risks, and key dependencies. 

  • Track key performance indicators related to project delivery and operational readiness. 

  • Support development of standardized project management tools and processes across the organization. 

Continuous Improvement 

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, launch processes, and project management practices. 

  • Assist leadership in refining and maintaining standardized processes for site launches and strategic initiatives. 

  • Contribute to development of organizational best practices related to operational growth and expansion. 

  • Perform other related duties as assigned. 

What we Ask of YOU:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or a related field is required. 

  • A Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related discipline is preferred. 

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred but not required. 

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, healthcare operations, or organizational leadership. 

  • Proven experience in managing healthcare operations in a correctional healthcare or similar regulated environment is highly preferred. 

  • Strong background in regulatory compliance, including experience with NCCHC, ACA, and other healthcare standards relevant to the correctional setting. 

  • Extensive experience in strategic planning, budget management, and leading cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives. 

  • Demonstrated success in driving operational efficiencies, improving patient care, and leading organizational change at a high level. 

  • Experience supporting operational expansions, new site launches, or large-scale program implementations preferred. 

  • Certification in Healthcare Management (e.g., FACHE), Correctional Healthcare (NCCHC) or other relevant professional certifications is preferred. 

  • Valid state licensure or certification in a healthcare-related field (if applicable). 

  • Active CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved), if role is located in a correctional facility.
