Humana is seeking an experienced and strategic Assistant Vice President (AVP), Integration & Value Creation to lead enterprise-wide transformation initiatives and complex integration programs that drive measurable business outcomes. This leader will serve as a critical bridge between strategy and execution, ensuring that acquisitions, strategic partnerships, organizational transformations, and enterprise initiatives achieve targeted value realization and sustainable operational performance.
The AVP will provide leadership across the full lifecycle of integration and value creation efforts-from strategy development and due diligence through execution, stabilization, and benefit realization. This role requires a highly influential leader who can effectively partner with senior executives, business leaders, and cross-functional teams to accelerate growth, optimize operations, and deliver lasting enterprise value.

Key Responsibilities

Integration Strategy & Execution

  • Lead end-to-end integration planning and execution for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic enterprise initiatives.
  • Develop and implement integration frameworks, governance structures, and operating models that support business objectives.
  • Establish Day 1 readiness plans, stabilization milestones, and long-term integration roadmaps.
  • Identify and mitigate integration risks while ensuring continuity of business operations.

Value Creation & Transformation

  • Define value creation opportunities and measurable business outcomes aligned with enterprise strategy.
  • Translate strategic objectives into executable programs that deliver operational, financial, and organizational benefits.
  • Develop business cases, synergy targets, and realization plans in partnership with Finance and business leaders.
  • Monitor and report value realization metrics, ensuring accountability for outcomes and corrective actions where needed.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional teams across Finance, HR, Operations, Technology, Compliance, Legal, and Business Segments.
  • Foster alignment among stakeholders to accelerate decision-making and remove barriers to execution.
  • Drive enterprise collaboration to ensure integrated solutions and sustainable change adoption.

Executive Engagement & Governance

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership regarding integration, transformation, and value realization initiatives.
  • Prepare and present updates, recommendations, risks, and performance outcomes to the Executive Leadership Team and other governance bodies.
  • Facilitate executive steering committees and decision forums to ensure timely resolution of key issues.

Change Management & Culture Integration

  • Partner with organizational effectiveness and change management teams to support workforce transitions and cultural integration.
  • Develop stakeholder engagement strategies that improve adoption, minimize disruption, and strengthen employee experience.
  • Promote enterprise values and leadership behaviors throughout transformation efforts.

Program Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish KPI dashboards and performance metrics to track initiative progress and business impact.
  • Implement best practices, lessons learned, and continuous improvement processes across integration and transformation programs.
  • Build organizational capability in integration management, value realization, and strategic execution.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Operations, or related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in strategy execution, transformation, integration, consulting, operations, or corporate development.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex enterprise-wide initiatives and large-scale transformational programs.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams in highly matrixed organizations.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience developing business cases, synergy models, and value realization plans.
  • Proven ability to influence senior executives and drive alignment across multiple stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and executive presentation skills.

  • Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or related advanced degree).
  • Healthcare payer, healthcare services, or healthcare technology industry experience.

  • Certification in Program Management, Change Management, Lean, Six Sigma, or related disciplines.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


$223,800 - $313,100 per year


This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
