Position Summary:

Cinterra is seeking a skilled and experienced Equipment Operator to work on large utility and commercial projects. As the Solar Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for the operation of Skid Steer, Off Road Forklifts and UTVs ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. Your role will involve handling material to facilitate the installation process.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Equipment Operation: Ensure proper operation of assigned equipment throughout installation process while ensuring safe working areas for group staff.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and inspect equipment daily to ensure serviceability and equipment uptime.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all operations are conducted in a safe manner and all ground crews maintain safe practices.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain all maintenance records and safety inspections as required by management as well as document and communicate any material deficiencies during course of work.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and mentorship to installation team members, promoting continuous learning and development of technical skills.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Six months of solar experience as well as certification in applicable equipment.
  • Leadership Skills: Be a positive influence on the team you are assigned to and take advantage of opportunities to assist site management when available.
  • Safety Focus: OSHA 10 or greater as well as a comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations and protocols related to solar installations, with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Problem-solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve installation issues effectively, making sound decisions under pressure.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to plan and prioritize installation projects efficiently.
  • Communication Skills: Be able to communicate professionally and positively to coworkers and managers.
  • Detail-oriented: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the quality and accuracy of installations.
  • Valid Driver's License: Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials, tools, and equipment (up to 50 pounds or more).
  • Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain.
  • Endurance to perform physical tasks throughout the workday, including bending, stooping, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Agility and flexibility to navigate construction sites and access work areas, including climbing ladders and scaffolding.
  • Must be able to position one-self to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, and tunnels.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
