Job Title: Inkjet and Flowmaster Operator

Reports to: Mailing Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, organize, and secure data files
  • Setup and operator 6 pocket match mail inserter (Flowmaster)
  • Run Ink Jet, Tabber, Strapper inserter and Meter
  • Follow job schedule to ensure jobs are running on schedule
  • Trouble shoot job or machine for errors
  • Performing quality checks
  • Perform daily maintenance and reporting any issues
  • Maintain a current inventory of mail supplies (Postal MM/EMM trays, MM/EMM Sleeves, Sacks, Pallets, PMOD sleeves, plastic tag holders, meter strips &ink. Supplies/parts for Ink Jet, Tabber, Strapper & Inserter)
  • Report any concerns and activity to the manager
  • Receive and pass along shift information requirements
  • Set up and operate inkjet and mail equipment at the beginning of each job according to specifications provided on the job ticket
  • Perform required maintenance on equipment (Clean your print head, insides, check under the hood, refill/flush fluids/ink, replace cartridges/ink, proper shut down, etc..)
  • Obtain signoff from customer service/clients
  • Recognize when the output of the operation drifts from specification
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; look for ways to improve and promote quality; applies feedback to improve performance; monitors own work to ensure quality
  • Meet productivity standards; completes work in a timely manner; strives to increase productivity; works quickly
  • Follow safety and security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; reports unsafe or potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly
  • Meet all postal requirements for (1) setup on mail panel positioning (2)placement of wafer seals on Folded Self Mailers/Letter size Booklets (3) Mail Sortation per regulations (4) Bundle, trays & pallets strapping positions are per postal regulations
  • Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Adequate computer skills and experience
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Good communicator
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard and mouse
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Must be selfmotivated and able to work independently and in team environments
  • Able to work in fastpasted environment, stand for extended periods of time
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 70lbs
  • Flexible work schedule and ability to work overtime
  • Sign off on all quality control requirements
  • Knowledge of USPS postal regulations is required
  • Education/Experience

    One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Language Ability

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    Math Ability

    Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Computer Skills

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Internet software; EFG Logic software; and Microsoft Outlook.

    Work Environment

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

    Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms; and sit. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
