Job description

The Opening Assistant will work M-F 6am-10am or Tuesday-Saturday 6am-10am, with potential for more hours if desired. This position will support the General Manager with daily prep work for a successful store opening with minimal customer interaction until store opening. Opening Assistant will have the option to work through lunch if desired with up to 40+ hours available. The Opening Assistant will work in the following areas:

  • Slicing and preparing fresh cut veggies
  • Bread preparation and baking
  • Meat slicing and preparation
  • Cold table set-up
  • Basic food and recipe preparation
  • Putting away inventory in stock room
  • Complete cleanup activities as needed
  • Taking customer pre-orders for the day
  • Other tasks as necessary

Requirements:

  • Able to comply with all food safety standards
  • Ability to work scheduled hours
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Organize and establish priorities in the store with minimal supervision

Additional Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of aged

• Must be able to lift 30-40 lbs. regularly throughout shifts

• Ability to stand, bend, reach and scoop through-out assigned shift

• Ability to be mobile in walk-in refrigerator and freezer with temperatures ranging from 40° F to -10° F
