The Senior Manager, Store Development & Planning will play a pivotal role within the Marketing and Communications team, reporting directly to the Commercial VP. With a keen eye for design and detail, and a deep understanding of the industry, this role is tasked with executing and promoting excellence across the design & presentation of all POS in the network.

The senior manager will lead and coordinate with our internal design team, consultants, contractors and business partners from the feasibility study phase, schematic and design development phases through the execution and tender phase to the final construction and turnover.

Responsibilities

Store Planning (chronologically, not in order of importance)

  1. Location Scouting: Help in analyzing potential locations. Develop budget and project timeline to support the project.
  2. Design & Development: Perform research and produce design mood boards. Lead and coordinate in a timely manner with our internal & external design teams & architects. Support the drawing phase.
  3. Pre‑Construction: Lead identifying the project architects and lead the bidding process to ensure budget and quality are met. Work with the legal department for lease exhibits and contracts with consultants and general contractors, ensuring compliance. Coordinate with Architect, HQ design team, Richemont IT and Security, and the Landlord to align on local codes and design intent. Monitor the process to completion of the design set, identify potential savings, review construction drawings, monitor permit times, and lead the tender phase with the architect or QS consultant. Review scope of work with bidding General Contractor and Millworkers.
  4. Construction: Manage entire project cycle, from conception to close out, ensuring timely delivery of projects and within budget. Responsible for project management of +/- 5 Retail construction projects per year across the Americas. Lead and coordinate construction between International SDP, internal local teams, consultants and vendors. Oversee construction management, turnover and follow‑up of all items on the punch list.
  5. Administration & General: Responsible for cost tracking & reporting of the project. Process invoices and work with Finance departments for reconciliations on a regular basis. Procure and coordinate owner supplied items. Maintain accurate status reports and present these in meetings. Frequent travel required – up to 30%.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience related to store design, construction management, or a related field. In‑house store planning experience preferred. Fluent in AutoCAD, Excel, Adobe CS and Microsoft Project and PowerPoint. Deep level of expertise in construction materials, methods, timelines, costs, and budgets. Extensive knowledge of architecture, including the ability to read architectural drawings. Understanding of building codes, permitting requirements, ADA, energy and other related compliance regulations. Ability to review, analyze, understand and negotiate bids and costs associated with architectural firms, general contractors, quantity surveyors, and construction management firms. Ability to travel up to 30%. Be able to lift up to 40 pounds as required. Availability to work a minimum of 4 days per week in the New York office.

Benefits

Salary range: $130,000 to $150,000. Role is eligible for bonus. Richemont offers a generous compensation and benefits package for eligible employees.
