BSC Store Operator Level I

Reports to: BSC Store Manager

Supervises: N/A

Summary Statement: The person in this position is responsible for assisting customers with merchandise and deployment needs, maintaining the BSC brand and customer service standards.

Essential Job Functions

  • (Point of Sale) Accurately enter all customer information into the POS system.
  • (Point of Sale) Operate POS system to check out all customer purchases, returns or exchanges.
  • (Customer Service) Answer telephone calls and welcome customers by greeting them, learning their shopping purpose, and providing customer satisfaction with a friendly, courteous and professional attitude.
  • (Customer Service) Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and others in a position to understand merchandise requirements.
  • (Customer Service) Resolve customer issues, seeking assistance from a manager if needed.
  • (Customer Service) Handle and assist with all sizing needs for deployments (if applicable).

Additional Job Functions (Level 1 must add ONE of the following job functions)

  • Order Fulfillment
    • Must be able to fulfill back orders and complete sales transactions in back office.
    • Ensure that fulfillment of the order relieves inventory and increases sales.
    • Works with store personnel to ensure orders are filled in preparation for pickup
    • If the store does Deployment operations, Order Fulfillment includes preparing the orders for the deployer and packing the deployment bag (if applicable)
  • Receiving
    • Must be able to sign, verify, and receive inventory, submitting required paperwork.
    • Accurately In-check inventory being received from vendors.
    • Accurately In-check inventory being received as transfers from other BSC stores
    • Ensures all stock is organized and located in appropriate storage areas.
    • Other receiving duties as assigned.
  • Store Merchandising
    • Maintain a store that looks well stocked and conforms to the BSC store standards.
    • Maintain cleanliness of sales floor, restrooms, warehouse, and office space.
    • Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or sales floor.
    • Responsible for all NIS tags.
    • Participate in store inventories, conduct cycle counts, and assist with A to Z shelf organization. (if applicable)
  • Shipping
    • Shipping orders to customers. Ensuring all paperwork is done, and the order is fully executed in the system (D365).
    • Shipping store transfers to other Base Supply Centers.
    • Must understand the shipping process and ensure that items go out in a timely manner.

Marginal Job Functions

  • Assist other personnel as time and knowledge permit.
  • Participate in training and meetings as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Must work professionally as part of a team with other store employees.
  • Must be able to comprehend and perform duties using established work and safety procedures.
  • Must perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workloads.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Appearance must be neat, clean and in adherence to the company's dress code policy.

Education and Work Experience
