WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Satellite Business Operations Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting satellite and network infrastructure operations that enable connectivity across distributed enterprise environments. You will work closely with operations, field services, and engineering teams to improve how satellite-based services are deployed, monitored, and maintained. You will play a meaningful role in improving satellite operations and service delivery while supporting real customer and internal initiatives.

This is a 10-week summer internship (June 2 – August 6) requiring 40 hours per week of on-site work. In this role, you will contribute to real-world operational initiatives and projects that directly impact service delivery and customer experience.

Major duties and responsibilities:

  • Work on supporting satellite and network operations under the guidance of experienced team members
  • Support monitoring and performance analysis of satellite connectivity systems using enterprise monitoring tools
  • Assist in tracking and managing satellite equipment and related network assets
  • Analyze workflows related to satellite deployments, maintenance, and service delivery
  • Identify inefficiencies in processes such as equipment allocation, field dispatch, and service response
  • Partner with operations and field teams to gather insights and recommend process improvements
  • Support documentation of satellite operations processes and best practices
  • Assist in troubleshooting connectivity or performance issues under the guidance of senior team members
  • Help define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as uptime, response time, and asset utilization
  • Contribute to initiatives that improve service reliability and customer experience
  • Prepare reports, summaries, and presentations for operational and leadership teams
  • Complete a capstone project or final presentation summarizing key findings, contributions, or process improvements delivered during the internship

WHO YOU ARE

You are a detail-oriented and analytical problem solver with an interest in telecommunications, satellite systems, or network operations. You enjoy understanding how systems work end-to-end and are motivated to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.

Key Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • Strong interest in satellite communications, networking, or field operations
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate processes and identify improvements
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly present ideas and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Preferred:

  • Exposure to networking concepts or telecommunications infrastructure
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma
  • Experience with data analysis or visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
