K&A Appliance Inc. is seeking a Store Operations Associate to work out of their Exton, PA location Full Time.
Responsibilities include unloading/loading household appliances into/out of trailers using a hand dolly, loading appliances into various vehicles for retail customers which involves lifting appliances with a co-worker, cleaning appliances, handling freight properly to avoid damage, operating 2-wheel hand dolly and pallet jack, help maintain a clean warehouse and showroom. Successful candidates must be able to perform heavy lifting, be legally able to drive a company vehicle (have a valid PA Driver's License), have an excellent attendance record and a high degree of accuracy. Prior appliance handling experience is a plus.
Requirements:
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, reach, grasp, bend and stack appliances for up to 8 to 10 hours at a time (minus scheduled breaks)
  • Stand for long periods of time and walk continuously.
  • Store staff may be required to lift up to 50 lbs on their own, lift more weight with the assistance of a co-worker, and safely maneuver heavy appliances (including large refrigerators & ranges) on their own, using only a 2 wheel dolly.
  • Must be available to work up to 48 hours a week, 9am - 5:30pm Monday through Thursday, 9am - 7pm Friday & Saturdays 9am - 4pm
  • Must have a valid & current Pennsylvania Driver's License

Training:
  • Training will take place in our main location in Lancaster County, PA
  • Training may take 2 or 3 weeks until employee is acclimated to moving, loading and unloading appliances in a safe and effective manner.
  • While training compensation will be provided for travel time & travel expense
  • Training to take place Monday through Friday 7am or 9am until 3:30pm or 5:30pm
  • Working hours during training can be flexible, longer days should result in completing training sooner, to then be released to work in our Exton store, hours and days as described under "Requirements"

Arrangements:
  • Closed Sundays & 6 major holidays
  • Working up to 48 hours per week, as needed
  • Starting pay rate $18.00 to $20.00 per hour
  • Annual Reviews & possibly mid-term reviews
  • Weekly payroll, direct deposited
  • After 3 months, qualify for 1 week of paid time off (earned throughout the full year) & holiday pay
  • After 3 months, qualify to participate in company 401k plan, with a company match up to 5%
  • (No Health Insurance is provided at this time)

Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
