Purchasing and Mill Stores Inventory Team Lead High Prairie, Alberta

We’re looking for a Purchasing and Mill Stores Inventory Team Lead to join our High Prairie OSB Division, located in High Prairie, Alberta. Our mill has undergone an exciting major rebuild and modernization including the commissioning of a new continuous press which will make us the most modern mill in North America.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • 3-5 years as a purchasing professional with leadership experience.
  • Has obtained or is working towards their APICS, SCMP, CSCP, CPIM or equivalent designation. 
  • Proven experience maintaining inventory levels and operating supplies.
  • Experience in a safety-sensitive, 24-hour manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and negotiation skills, combined with a can-do attitude. 
  • A good understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), preferably JD Edwards and Coupa is an asset.  


In this role you will:

  • Analyze costs, select suppliers, and negotiate contracts for the mill.
  • Lead your team to make sure parts, materials and services are procured on time, at the right price, and with the right quality, and quantity.  
  • Oversee material and operating supplies inventory.
  • Oversee inventory analysis, plan and execute optimization plans.
  • Support the team in finding creative solutions to meet business needs.
  • Oversee the work order system enabling you to keep kitting turning over.
