About the Role โ€“ Director of Operations

As the Director of Operations, you will be a critical leader within our organization, overseeing a portfolio of restaurants and ensuring all locations operate with excellence in service, culture, and profitability. You will work collaboratively with the VP of Operations, Managing Partners, and the Home Office team to uphold brand standards while building strong, empowered restaurant leadership teams. Your role is to develop people, drive performance, and lead with integrityโ€”ensuring each Wingstop location delivers legendary service every day.

You will manage up to 7 District Managers, ensuring they are aligned with company expectations, demonstrating strong leadership presence, and receiving consistent support across all assigned districts. Your influence will shape the operational rhythm of the businessโ€”especially during key dayparts like dinner and weekends, where your active presence will help identify realโ€‘time opportunities, support restaurant teams, and ensure peak execution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with the VP of Operations and Home Office to align regional operations with company goals.
  • Provide strategic oversight to General Managers and District Managers, promoting operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage up to 7 District Managers, setting clear expectations, providing ongoing leadership support, and driving consistency across all markets.
  • Train, coach, and develop General Managers and Area Managers to foster effective leadership across all locations.
  • Maintain a strong presence in key daypartsโ€”including dinner and weekends to support field teams and resolve operational needs in real time.
  • Ensure compliance with all operational procedures, food safety standards, and health codesโ€”including maintaining consistent DOH โ€œAโ€ ratings.
  • Oversee and maintain the Corporate Scorecard, using it as a tool to drive accountability, track performance, and ensure restaurants consistently achieve and sustain Champion Status in Smart Kitchen.
  • Analyze financial performance of each location and implement strategies to drive sales, manage costs, and improve profitability.
  • Lead the recruitment, development, and performance management of restaurant-level leadership.
  • Conduct regular visits and audits to monitor service quality, team engagement, and facility standards.
  • Oversee the successful launch and operational readiness of new restaurant openings, from hiring to grand opening execution.
  • Implement company-wide initiatives aimed at employee retention, performance improvement, and guest satisfaction.
  • Lead structured weekly calls and in-person meetings with General Managers to ensure focus and accountability.
  • Act as a role model for our brand values, consistently demonstrating servant leadership, transparency, and a people-first mindset.
