POSITION TITLE: CONVENIENCE STORE GENERAL MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: EXPRESS LANE / PITT STOP SOUTH CAROLINA
REPORTS TO: DISTRICT MANAGER
FLSA: EXEMPT / SALARY
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Convenience Store General Manager, you will have the opportunity to create and maintain an exceptional store experience for your guests. This is a salaried/exempt position and typically reports to the District Manager. The Convenience Store Manager will oversee a retail location's staff and activities to achieve a profitable store location. The Store Manager will be responsible for the day to day running of the store including stock control, overheads, staff, gross profit, and reporting.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Staff management: interview, selection, and training of all staff for the retail location.
  • Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of staff.
  • Confirms daily sales reports and cash receipts; ensures monies are deposited regularly, and reports are submitted as prescribed by company policies.
  • Ensure store standards are consistently improved in terms of housekeeping, merchandising, presentation, and service.
  • Holds regular communication meetings with staff to ensure all plans are carried out.
  • Addresses customer needs and resolves issues, ensuring positive and long-term customer relationships.
  • Ensures inventory data is correct by performing spot inventory counts and checks.
  • Collaborates with regional managers to develop, coordinate, and identify cost-effective advertising and hiring strategies.
  • Ensures that the store always looks clean and inviting.
  • Achieve Gross Profit Margin, Net Margin and Sales Targets as agreed with District Managers
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and management skills with ability to motivate staff.
  • Experience working to targets, KPI's and measurements.
  • Understanding of P&L and financials
  • Excellent customer service abilities and positive attitude
  • Flexible and open schedule
  • High School/GED required.
  • Customer service experience required.
  • Retail management experience highly preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Teams, Excel and Outlook
  • Frequent standing for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds at times.
